What is the LINk in Cornwall project about?

www.linkincornwall.org.uk

LINk in Cornwall is a part of a nationwide project to give the public and patients the opportunity to work with the people who plan and run health and social care services to make positive changes. It is independent and volunteer led. This means that LINk in Cornwall is run by the people who take part in it.

The people taking part in LINk in Cornwall are supported by a partnership of host organisations.

Cornwall Rural Commmunity Council [CRCC] is the lead host organisation in this partnership, housing a team of 3 full time staff members. The team work with project leads across CRCC and in Age Concern Cornwall and Penwith Community Development Trust [PCDT] via Inter-Link Cornwall.

CRCC's role is to coordinate the partnership of host organisations so that we are able to promote, support, guide and advise LINk in Cornwall to achieve what it has set out to do.

How LINk in Cornwall works

LINk will work in a number of ways. We will:

  1. Talk directly to health and social care professionals about a service that is not being offered or suggesting ways that an existing service could be improved.
  2. Research specific issues of concern to the community and make recommendations to the people who plan and run services
  3. Ask for information about services from commissioners and providers
  4. Carry out spot checks on services that are publicly funded to see if they are working well
  5. Refer issues to Cornwall County Councils Health and Adult Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee [HASOSC].
