Support For Voluntary Sector
ChangeUp is a national Government initiative to strengthen the voluntary sector. The aim is to improve performance in all areas, so that voluntary organisations will deliver high quality services to the public. Capacity Builders is the new Government agency created to oversee the programme. The CRCC is a lead partner for the ChangeUp consortium for Cornwall, known as ‘Cornwall Infrastructure Partnership’. It is responsible for administering the finances, and, with its partners, making sure that we achieve a real change in the quality of our services.
This is a large scale three year agreement on a programme of activity to deliver shared priorities that should make a real difference for Cornwall's communities. All sectors - the public, private and voluntary & community sectors - are involved in the process of working together the LAA. CRCC is the accountable body for the ‘Empower Communities’ outcome within the agreement, and we are co-ordinating a partnership of the voluntary sector, the District Councils and Cornwall Association of Local Councils to deliver activities.
CRCC is the Cornwall agent for ProHelp - a national network of professional firms each of which have offered to provide professional and strategic support, free of charge, to voluntary and community groups in the local area. Members of ProHelp include surveyors, architects, accountants, solicitors, public relations and marketing specialists, property consultants, engineers, IT consultants plus many others.
Cornwall Rural Community Council now offer an ICT support service to charities and voluntary groups. We can offer a wide range of practical support and advice to groups via on site visits or the telephone.
