It is with considerable regret that Cornwall Rural Community Council has had to close down the YP2 project, which operated in the Clay areas of mid-Cornwall. The main funding from the BIG Lottery has now completed and therefore the project was officially closed with effect from the 30th September 2008.

Tremendous efforts were made by staff members working for and with YP2 to secure ongoing funding but unfortunately CRCC has been unable to secure adequate and sustainable support. YP2, over 7 years, provided youth provision and opportunities for young people in the Clay areas to gain new skills whilst helping raise their levels of self-esteem in the process.

Working with the voucher scheme and all our partners, YP2 engaged with over 3000 young people and was involved in local community activities, national campaigns and offered volunteering opportunities for young people.

CRCC would like to thank all the YP2 staff and volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the project over the years. In addition CRCC would also like to thank all the partner organisations that YP2 has worked with for all their support and assistance . It is hoped that some of the work YP2 has been involved in will continue, for the benefit of all the local young people, through some the partnerships that have been formed.
